CRLS Golf Team Completes Successful 2024 Season

The Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) High School Golf Team completed their 2024 season in mid-October. The league is open to Boys and Girls in 9th – 12th grade and competes in the Dual County League (DCL). Fresh Pond Golf Course offers the athletes free tee times for practices and matches, held Monday through Thursday during the fall season.

“We had over 35 golfers on our team this year, and growth mindset and personal bests are always a focus for players,” says Coach Jay Mahoney. “We compete in a strong golf league, so team wins do not come so often. Yet our players have experienced individual match wins and have many more than last year. Because of increased access to Fresh Pond Golf Course, I have seen our players grow by leaps and bounds throughout the season.”

Over the summer, Fresh Pond Golf Director Jo-Anna Krupa offered four free golf clinics to any teen who was interested in improving their golf technique to prepare for the fall season. During Summer 2025, Krupa hopes to expand clinic offerings for teens. Fresh Pond Golf Course also maintains sets of golf clubs, donated by patrons, that any young person can borrow if they don’t have their own set.

The CRLS Golf League season spans from the end of August through mid-October. Tryouts for the league are held in early spring.
